Becoming the best version of you!

What do Nutritionists do?

A Nutritionist can help you to better understand how the food you eat affects your health and wellbeing. Whether you want to lose weight, improve your exercise performance or just feel better, optimising your diet can help you achieve many of your goals. Nutrition is not always an exact science and can often be confusing, so seeing a nutritionist can help build a plan that is specific to you whilst being backed by evidence-based science.

Why see a Nutritionist?

Many health concerns can be improved by changing your diet in some way. Seeing a Nutritionist can help to empower you to take some control over your health as an individual, not by using a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Here are some areas in which a Nutritionist may be able to help:

  • Weight loss
  • Weight gain
  • Body composition
  • Food intolerance
  • Diet quality and balance
  •  Nutrient deficiencies
  • Exercise performance
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Indigestion/acid reflux
  • GI/gut disturbances
  • & Many more!

What happens during an appointment?

Your first appointment will be an initial consultation that will include an assessment of your current diet, body measurements (weight, height, body fat etc) and medical history. During the consultation we will discuss your health and wellbeing goals and explore how making certain changes to your diet will help you to achieve them. This may include an individualised meal plan for you to follow and give you some ideas on healthy but tasty meals.

At follow up appointments we will discuss your progress since the initial consultation and perhaps adjust the goals/targets discussed previously. We will talk about what you may be finding difficult and also where you feel you are making progress. Your body measurements may be taken again to see if the plan is working depending on your specific needs.

The number of appointments needed with a Nutritionist will vary from person to person and depends on your needs as an individual. However, follow up appointments are recommended every 2-4 weeks for at least a 3-month period.
